Today I went to the coast to watch the Space shuttle Discovery take off into flight. The trip was fun, but did not start out that way. I had decided to go by way of the beeline 528, but I got onto the road and it was solid gridlock. I made my way slowly to the greenway 417, and then went by route of hwy 50 which was completely empty.
We (David and I) stopped at a park called Prospect park and got a great spot. The VAB was diagonally across from us and the launch pad was just a little bit to the left of that. when the clouds and the fog lifted the view was breath taking. It’s a shame that the mission was scrubbed, now I won’t get a chance to see the launch in person. oh well i guess there is always next time.
Now I sit here in Merritt Island waiting for time to pass. David and I are going to go to the Sterling cruise, neither of us has ever been.
The mission may have been scrubbed but my day has not.
