Well I went today and looked at the Delaney Park apartment. I like it. So I put down an application fee and filled out the application. Now I just have to wait and see what they tell me. My friend Erica says that it won’t be a problem; I however am a pessimist sometimes.
Apartment details: its about 554 sq ft. has a regular size fridge and stove. I don’t believe it has a dish washer but then I don’t remember looking for that. It has berber carpet that the landlord says is about three months old, a huge walk in closet, the bathroom features a shower/tub combo, and the bedroom will have enough room for a queen size bed with no problems.
I won’t have room for a table, but there is a space for eating. The landlord guy doesn’t really like the idea of me painting in there, but then as long as I paint it back to white with a good paint he would be ok with it. The only real detraction I see is that the apartment doesn’t have central heating and air, it’s a window unit. That kinda bothers me, but I suppose for the price id be paying a window unit isn’t so bad.
The next thing I need to do if I get approved is find out who the power company is (it’s probably OUC) who the cable company is (I hope its brighthouse) and find out who I am supposed to contact about garbage and sewer. I will also try and find a part time job for the weekends to make a little extra money so I can afford some extra things.
To all my friends… get ready I am gonna need your help… ;-)

You know where to find me if you need help.
As for a part-time job, ever think of trying to get a job at the comic store you like so much?
I hope you like this place! =)

Honestly, no I had not thought about working at the comic book shop… I dont know if I could, somehow it seems kinda wrong to me. I think the store is fully staffed anyway.

I agree Chris. That would be wrong to work at the comic store you like so much. It just might change the way you feel about the store and the enjoyment you get out of it. Better to stay on the other side of the table there. For the same money, there are probably several part time jobs you could get.

Personally, I am all about working where you like to go…it saves time. But, hey, that’s just me.

I have thought about this often. Yab Yum was an exception, but generally I do not think it is a good idea to mix employment with places you already enjoy. ANOTHER comic shop, though, would be an idea. There are many in town so I think it would be easy enough to find one that needs some part-time assistance.

There are also bookstores, porn stores, pet stores….. the list goes on and on. although I forbid you from working at a fast food joint….I know it’s not my place, but I forbid it anyway, damnit! =)

E, you can rest easy I will not be working at any fast food joints. they are so not my style.
David, you are correct there are other comic book shops and that is a good idea.
Elroy, as you and E pointed out there are many part time jobs, all of which could bring a little extra income.

Good luck Chris :)
If you need an extra set of hands for moving, I’d be happy to help.

Well thank you Nick, I appreciate that.
I will let you know should I need your assistance. ;-)

Well, now that I have seen the apartment — albeit only from the outside — I am even more excited about the move. Yay! I hope the guy calls you today!
