In Brightest Day…

In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night, No Evil Shall Escape My Sight. Let Those Who Worship Evil’s Might, Beware My Power; Green Lantern’s Light!

These Immortal words are spoken by one of DC’s most powerful superheros. He is one of my favorites, Hal Jordan, who killed himself to protect Earth from the corrupt power of Parallax, a yellow parasite that had taken him over.

Jordan became the Spectre, a spirit of vengeance. Where ever there was a just cause for vengeance the Spectre was there. And so Jordan lived in this manner, his body dead but his soul moving about the world.

DC decided to bring back Jordan as Green Lantern in a Series called Rebirth. In issue number four, the reanimated body of Jordan complete with soul emerges from his coffin and tells Sinestro to get the HELL away from Kyle Rayner (the Current Green Lantern for Earth) and Jordan’s friend and usual Sidekick Oliver Queen (aka Green Arrow). It’s an awesome scene, one of those moments in comic books that you are drawn into, the world has melted away and all you see is the action in your head.

I give the writers and artists big props and congrats on this particular issue. It’s phenomenal! The very last page is the scene in which I was just talking about. Don’t get me wrong the rest of the series has been awesome but this particular issue is so very good.

If you like comics, I highly recommend checking the series out.
