I don’t know if you read my entry about my thoughts at bedtime, but one of the lines says that I really want to get my bathroom retiled. To be more specific I want to get the wall tiles that are in the shower/tub area redone.

Well I have been after my parents to make a few calls to contractors and they did talk to one shop but I was so unimpressed with the company that they found that I started looking on my own. I made calls to various places and found a few estimates that were NOT in my budget. Oh did I forget to mention that I am paying for this? So anyway the few estimates that I got were like 1300.00 dollars and 1150.00 dollars and I thought that was just way too high. So I went looking at companies rather than independent contractors.

I found a really beautiful tile that I really love at Floors Direct, which is just off of Hwy 50, diagonally across from the Home Depot close to SR 436. As soon as I get the name of the company that made the tiles I’ll show you a picture of the tiles that I’m getting. The sales man that was helping me out was really nice and was no pressure about the sale. Coincidently his name is Chris also. But the tile is going to run a total of about two hundred forty dollars, after the additional tile that I am going to need to purchase. I say additional tile because the price that I was quoted was done so before they knew how many Id need and how many end pieces there would be and any extras that I wanted to throw in.

Well the guy came over tonight and measured and looked at the tile that was in there and he gave me an estimate of two hundred ninety five dollars to re do the tile. That is labor and any extra materials. I was like hell yeah, sign me up. So I have to call Floors Direct tomorrow and talk to the guy and see if the contractor called and gave him the information.

Soon I will have a new bathroom tub area that will look very pretty. And I won’t be quite as ashamed to show to visiting guests or shower buddies… any volunteers to come see? ;-)
